My dogs penis is bleeding and swollen and he is going into septic shock and if you have any questions about his condition please answer it.

I just took my dog in today because he was vomiting and having diarrhea and had a large lump on his stomach and it looked like an infection. The vet gave him a shot and sd it was in his liver and that it will need to be removed.

I took him home and have been checking him every 10 minutes. He is breathing and eating ok, but he seems lethargic, weak and not at all himself.

He is very thin and is shaking all over.

His eyes are rolled back into his head and he is bleeding on his penis.

I called and his vet office sd they are getting him to see an emergency vet right away and to do xrays of his stomach.

Should I put him to sleep right now? The vet says there is no hope.

Or should I try to keep him alive to have his liver removed. Will it be too late to save him? I know what is happening, but is there something I can do to help him or at least stop him from bleeding to death?

Sorry, but he may be gone by the time you get there. Do you know that there is a good chance the vet didn't even open his bowels? A lot of vets just leave it closed with a good dose of antibiotics and the patient will probably be better off without any intervention.

His penis looks like it's broken. It may need to be cauterized. Maybe it's too late. It would be a good idea to have xrays taken of his stomach to rule out a perforation, especially if he has diarrhea. That could be a really serious thing.

If he's been vomiting, there could be some internal bleeding. If he's going into shock, he's probably been going into shock a long time. He may have septic peritonitis. If you've seen him try to stand and he falls back on his side, he probably has a laceration of some kind on his backside.

Do you want to help him? You should take him to your vet and let them help him. A lot of things could happen to your guy, but if you want to help him, you've got to be willing to do the work, which includes seeing him every day.

No, he was actually really comfortable. It was pretty much the opposite of having pn meds running through his body.

If you have enough time, have you considered a change? I'm pretty sure a lot of the other guys would have a change of heart if they heard you were going to be on here for a while. They're going to be worried and that's going to make the process of you getting him there slower.

The most humane thing to do would be to leave him in the hands of your vet until he's had time to adjust to the new home. You should know if he's going to have the same problems with the new owners.

I have been thinking about the change... He just really likes me, and he has been through so much already. I can't bear to see him go through any more. He is a huge part of my life, and I just can't bear to let him down. I'm going to try to be brave and stay strong for him...

I'm not going to think about being on the forum while he's there... That would break my heart

I will be on the forum, but I will use my good, long break from school to work on other projects. I really want to get a garden, since I need something to look forward to. I've got a huge plan for that... I will most likely be spending time on my profile, because I have some ideas that I'd like to work on. I don't know yet, but I do have some ideas.

I will most likely spend some time on the forum too... I have some people I want to talk to.

Well, you know you'll still have the support of the members here. You know if you ever have any questions they are more than willing to help out. But when it comes to the time for you to go live with him, just have him stay where you are so you're not so far apart. And try to make it into something that you both will enjoy.

I'll be here when you get back... I'm going to go on vacation next week, so i won't be able to post for a bit. I'll come back and be back on the forum full force when i'm back though, so stay tuned!

He's here! He's here!! He's here!!! He is where he belongs

I'm not even going to think about the last ten minutes I've spent on here....

Thanks. I don't think I really understood until now. I know I should have, but I was so wrapped up in thinking about when to start living and not thinking that I was forgetting what was more important.

You all have been a huge help to me, but most of all I am going to try to hold it together for him.

My mom is here. She wanted to make sure I had some stuff to take with me that I thought I'd never have agn. Things that reminded me of you, things I have no idea what to do with, and a few more things. I was going to make a list of all that I wanted, but she just wanted to drop it all off at the house and go on her way, so I guess we can just agree that things are better with a lot more stuff.

For what it's worth, your brother will be able to see the stuff for the first time when he gets here. It's too late for me to do it, and I really couldn't stand the thought of leaving him without seeing that stuff. It's like a family heirloom for him, and I want to do right by him.

The way that he has been thinking about moving into a nursing home has really gotten to me. When he first sd it, it didn't really seem too realistic. I couldn't really understand how he would ever live in a nursing home. I'd have thought he would be fine just being in a facility with his cat, but he's not. He's become
