Why does my cat follow me around all the time?
My cat always seems to be following me around. I mean, he's a house cat, but he's also a big tomcat. He never does it when I'm doing anything else - he's always waiting for me to go on the computer, for example. He'll sit on the floor of the living room next to the computer, or he'll sit on my lap while I'm playing video games or watching a movie. I'll get up to leave, but then he'll follow me out of the room.
Then again, he also follows me to the bathroom. I'm not sure what he's looking for. He's always there when I get up to pee, and he's always there while I'm going to the bathroom. He's also very interested in my cat nip, which I keep out of his reach, and he likes to jump on my back to see what's there.
I just don't understand why this is happening. He's a big cat, but I think he likes to keep an eye on me. Is there anything I can do to stop him from doing this?
I had that problem with my first cat. He was always "in my pocket". My first idea was to leave him out in the backyard by himself, and he could go his own way, and when I'd leave the house, he would go look for me.
That didn't work, so I just ignored him. That usually worked.
When my second cat arrived, I had him "crated". I didn't keep him in a crate all day, though. Just for a few hours a day when I'd let him out.
And now my second cat is the same way. He follows me everywhere. He'll even follow me to the garage to let me in the house. My husband and I have discussed this before, and we feel that if he gets lost or gets hurt, we don't want to know about it.
I think you need to figure out what is driving him crazy. Perhaps it's because he has no choice and has to follow you?
My cat would do this if she felt there was someone she wanted to eat. This is my cat's personality.
My cat follows me to my computer and I don't let her in the computer room because she would want to look up my computer stuff. But when I am watching a video, if she wants to get in, she sits and waits patiently for me to come back, as long as the video is over. Then she leaves and follows me to the bathroom. It's annoying because she will jump up on your back to look at your back pack. You are so smart for getting a cat carrier.
I had this problem with a cat I just got. It is the same with me, my cat will sit and follow me to the computer, then will jump up on me. Then will follow me to the bathroom, and will jump up on my back.
I don't understand why they do this and just ignore me. I was told he just likes to be close to you and I have to ignore it.
Mine did this when I lived with my parents. Now that I live with my husband, it's not as bad but he will be there when I come home, in the bathroom or outside the front door waiting. It really annoys me because I have to keep going back to the living room and making him sit and leave to come in to me. I just don't understand why he does it.
Same thing with my kitten. He'll get out of the cat room and jump on my back and want to be let into the bathroom.
I found it strange when I got the cat carrier because it doesn't seem like they do that when they are in the house.
I don't know why he does this. It's a cat problem, not a human one. If you need to get some peace and quiet, the first step is to not put your cat in the living room with you. That is the place where they are most likely to come and start bothering you.
When I got my cat, I was told he would follow me to the computer and sit on my lap waiting for me to come back. If I got up to get a glass of water or something, he'd follow me. I don't understand this either. My cat just seems to enjoy being with me. It's more that when I have the computer, he's ready and waiting.
I think it's cute. My cat does the same thing. Sometimes, when I am getting ready to go to the gym, she will follow me all the way to the gym. And then, she will follow me back home. I try to ignore her, but it is very annoying.
I had this problem, too. My cat did it with me, too. When he was just a kitten, I didn't understand what was up with him, but now that he's grown, he's so attached to me, he's waiting on me.
I would say ignore him. My husband and I think it's a cute way for our cat to show us she's with us and she wants to keep up with us. Maybe she's like that with her owner, too? I don't know.
I had a cat that used to follow me to the bedroom, sit on the bed and look at me like I was going to give him something. I had to just
